What is Fun Night and why is it important to The Children’s School?

Fun Night is our annual parents-only spring fundraising event. The funds raised are used to support our students, teachers, and programs and allow us to offer a significant Tuition Assistance program. We know that a TCS education is one of the best gifts that families can give to their children. We want that gift to be available to as many families as possible. 

When is Fun Night?

Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 from 5:30 - 10:00 p.m.

Where will Fun Night take place?

The event will take place at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla, 3777 La Jolla Village Dr, San Diego, CA 92122.

Do I need tickets to the event? 

Yes, tickets to the event are on sale March 5, 2025. Early Bird Ticket pricing of $200 will be available until March 26, 2025, after that date, prices will increase to $225. The last day to purchase tickets will be April 11th, 2025. No ticket purchases will be accommodated at the door. Tables of 10 are also available for purchase and are the only way that we can guarantee table seating requests. 

Will there be valet parking?

Yes, valet will be provided. We also encourage guests to consider carpooling or using a ride-share service (ex. Uber, Lyft) for the evening. Have fun responsibly!

What should I wear?

Fun Night is a chance to dress up and have a great time! This year’s theme, Blockbuster Bash, invites guests to dress as iconic characters from blockbuster films, making every attendee part of the show.

Here are some creative ideas:
Avengers: Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Scarlett Witch.
Barbie: Ken, Barbie, Weird Barbie, Allan.
Wicked: Glenda, Elfaba.
Jurassic Park: Dr. Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, Ian Malcolm, T-Rex.
The Lion King: Simba, Scar, Nala, Mufasa.
Frozen: Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Sven.
Avatar: Jake Sully, Neytiri, Dr. Grace Augustine.
The Lord of the Rings: Frodo Baggins, Gollum, Gandalf, Aragorn.
Star Wars: Princess Leia, Han Solo, Darth Vader, Chewbacca.

What do I need to do when I arrive?

The event starts at 5:30 pm. Every guest must visit the check-in desk to confirm their arrival, get their table assignment and bidder number. You do not need physical tickets to the event.

What is the timeline of the evening?

5:30-6:45 - Cocktail Hour & Silent Auction
7:00-8:30 - Dinner, Live Auction, & Paddle Raise for Tuition Assistance
8:30-10:00 - Live Entertainment & Dancing

What’s for dinner?

The following options are available, all served with seasonal vegetables and potatoes: 

Braised Short-Ribs with brandied Demi-Glace
Seared Sea Bass with Red Pepper Chimichurri
Chicken Breast with Black Garlic Cream Sauce  
Stuffed Acorn Squash 

How do I bid on auction items?

Auction packages will be available for bidding on our auction website. The link will be sent out via email a few days before the auction opens for bidding. Most auction packages will open for bidding on Monday, April 28 at 10:00 a.m. and will close on Sunday, May 4 at 12:00 p.m.
